Usually the brush will need replacing when the bristles have been worn down to approximately 10mm in length. This can vary depending on the type of brush you own, so always consult your operators manual for verification. Due to repeated contact with the floor, the bristles will wear and become shorter in length.
How long does a scrub brush last?
This is dependent on the type of brush you are using and what surface you are applying it to. More abrasive, heavy duty brushes typically last for a longer time than a softer bristle. This is why it is important you are using the right brush for the right application, as incorrect use can wear your brushes out faster. e.g a softer brush on a hard concrete floor.
What scrub brush should I use?
This is dependent on the floor surface material you are cleaning. Our Brush and Pad guide on our scrubber information page can provide an idea as to what is most appropriate for you. If you are still unsure, speak to a member of our sales team.
Do I have to buy genuine scrub brushes?
No. This is up to the discretion of the operator, some customers prefer sticking to the genuine brushes available to them whereas others may opt for a cheaper non-genuine brush. All scrubbing machines come standard with genuine brushes or pads from the manufacturer. If you are purchasing genuine or non-genuine, ensure that you are buying the right sized brush/pad for the job (please check machine parts list). Most brushes and pads are displayed in either mm or inches.
